Now that the Super Bowl is over we can move onto something just as exciting...The 2018 Winter Olympics. The Opening Ceremonies begin on February 8th with games lasting for the next two weeks and let’s be honest with ourselves, this is going to consume our lives. If you don’t have Uber Eats installed on your phone, download it. If you haven’t washed your favorite cozy blanket do it before the games begin, there is no time for frivolous chores during the Olympics. This may also be a great time to test run having your groceries delivered instead of actually going to the store, after all, it’s about priorities this month.
So now that the basics are covered it’s time to decide where you will be watching history in the making for the majority of the month. The sofa is a large commitment, and if you want to have space to yourself, especially during the high-pressure moments then a chair is your go-to for the games. Below are some suggestions, take into consideration the need to move, leap, cheer and generally bounce from seat to feet on all the intense moments that we are sure to see from TEAM USA.
Opening Ceremonies: Such a nostalgic time, watching the beginning of the games with the ones you love, maybe hosting a small watch party with close friends and family. The Rowe Caren Chair is large enough for two and sturdy enough for excitement when TEAM USA makes their first appearance.
Figure Skating: The elegance of this sport is intoxicating, admit it, jumps, leaps, gorgeous spins all complementing one another with glorious music. Nathan Chen is the favorite for Gold in the men’s competition, with his large jumps and spins it will spectacular. The Pressley Wing Chair by Sam Moore is perfect for taking in all of the glamorous moments from the short skate to the medal ceremony. (shown below)
Cross Country Skiing: This sport is an all-day commitment. Athletes compete outdoors in the cold but you can watch from the comfort of home. In our eyes, the perfect chair for this game is this Robin Bruce Chaise. Another option for snuggling with the one you love while watching the games. Fall into the Haven chaise, relax and enjoy the day while Team USA competes out in the elements of PyeongChang. (shown below)
Hockey: This is a game for the whole family to watch. Order the food (or cook your favorite dish) pour the wine, beer, whiskey (you may need it all with this round of competition) then climb into this Bernhardt Odeon Chair. Its soft, warm and fits perfectly into this memorable family night. Its ability to be versatile in any space makes it the perfect chair for everyone.
Curling: This is a favorite of everyone. The intensity of this game seems to be never ending which is why you will want to curl up in Moe’s Connor Club Chair. Sinking into it with your favorite cozy blanket, and a cup of tea will be all you need to enjoy the competition. Promise.
Snowboarding: We all love Shaun White and Chloe Kim but the intensity of this sport will have you more on the edge of your seat than the others. Our suggestion, the Teal Connor Swivel Chair from Hooker. Teal is a vibrant color that is sure to keep you as energized and focused as the athletes. (shown below)
Closing Ceremonies: It’s over, the 2018 Games will end as fast as they begin. Each Olympic moment will be shown again begging for us to shed tears over last-minute wins and heartbreaking losses. While the games were only two weeks of our lives it was exhausting. Time to lean back, grab that glass of wine and enjoy. The Hooker Anderson Power Recliner is perfect for evenings such as this. It’s comfort and elegance compliments any room, the ability to relax effortlessly in it until bedtime is more than enough to convince us that this chair is a winner. (shown below)
